O’Donnell Wedding
This has definitely taken far longer than I had anticipated, but I am really glad to finally be able to post a blog about this wedding! I feel most comfortable with natural light so when I found out that this wedding was going to be taken place outdoors I was really excited about it!
I second shot this wedding with Ashley of Ashley Wiktorek Photography on a pretty warm Sunday in September. I had the opportunity to meet the Bride and Groom, Ryan and Emily the night before the wedding. They were very relaxed and you could tell first hand that they loved each other! I knew the wedding was going to be a blast!
Like always, I want to get started with some of the details!
Emily had a really beautiful dress. I’ve never gotten detail shots of a wedding dress before, so I was really glad to have gotten these!
Simplicity was definitely a strong suit for their wedding! They decorated with Mason Jars and flowers! It looked amazing!
I absolutely LOVED how they had a carnival themed wedding. They had corn hole and cotton candy! How does that not scream fun?

Emily’s nephew was about a few months old at the time of the wedding! He was so peaceful! 
Here are a few of my favorites from when Emily revealed herself to her father! It was very sweet! Their relationship is precious!
I also loved Ryan and Emily’s first looks! I just love how their excitement shows through these!
The bridal party was a very goofy bunch! You could tell that they all enjoyed being around each other!
Then of course there was the ceremony and the reception! This was definitely my favorite part (I mean, why wouldn’t the wedding ceremony be your favorite part?)
The first dance was amazing! I feel as though the shots that I got from here were my favorites from the whole wedding! It was definitely hard to choose which ones I wanted to put here, so I practically included all of my edited ones!
I really liked the concept of doing the Father/Daughter Dance and the Mother/Son dance at the same time. I feel as though it brought a lot of unity to both families! They danced to Ben King’s “Stand By Me” 
I had a blast shooting this wedding! I wish Ryan and Emily the best!
It’s the little things..
I’ve been doing a lot of research over the past few months and some with a lot more depth within the past few days. It’s interesting because as I’m getting a hand on developing my presence as a photographer, and running J. Cameron Photography as a business and not merely a hobby, I’ve been looking at the details that it requires. While time consuming, I feel as though there are each very simple entities to have.
Branding
For one, I really am working hard to develop a brand that I really love and enjoy. Something that is timeless. Something that stands out. Something that adds power to the pictures that I take. While it is fairly simple, I have yet to get to something that I will like long enough to keep. I have one that’s practically text. It is nice for the time being, but I really would like to have something different.
Creating a contract
I never felt as though I needed to necessarily have a contract for my business. From doing research and observing the business strategies of other photographers, I felt as though it is really important to have a contract for client’s. I believe that it is important to have one for portrait sessions and one for weddings. I managed to have my general contract completed and will be working on one for a wedding.
Create Packages
This is something that I feel should be done anyways. I have usually told my Clients that I charge $50/hr for shooting and provide a certain amount of images on a CD for the client. For one, I believe that this is very cheap. However, I am keeping it at that pricing until I have developed a consistent clientele base. I have a package set for once that happens and I’m glad that I do have it.
Another package setup that I haven’t done was prints. I usually do not do prints, but I have had people ask for them. When that happens, I am usually just throwing together some random pricing and giving it to the client. Whether it is offered or not, I believe that having a print package established for clients is a good thing to do. It’s better safe than sorry. Especially because you don’t want to under value your time and expenses to get those prints.
Don’t be shy
This is something that I feel is a big part in the actual photography portion of the business. I tend to find myself a little bit more shy when it comes to actually photographing people. I am not a touchy-feely person so I’m usually just verbally trying to explain a pose instead of showing or moving the person when shooting. In the photography world, that’s not going to work all the time. You have to touch and feel. You have to be willing to do the uncomfortable. Get out of your comfort zone.
I think all of these are equally important and I don’t think you can really cut any one of them out of the equation.

Taylor Wedding
I am happy to finally be able to post these!
I second shot with Ashley Wiktorek of Ashley Wiktorek Photography for Drew and Nikki Taylor’s Wedding late this Summer. Ashley and I were on the same hall during my Sophomore year at Liberty. She needed a second shooter and I was definitely all aboard with helping her out! I was really excited about having the opportunity to learn so much and definitely did! The day was fantastic!
Here are some of my favorite shots from the Taylor’s wedding. I want to always start with the details! I feel as though its the little things mean the most on a day like this!
One thing I absolutely loved about the details of this wedding was how she integrated her favorite color: Green
with other coordinations of black and white. Since I am biased to the use of Black and White (especially with my editing), I really liked capturing those details!
After this wedding, I realized how much I like first looks. I believe that I will actually want to do the same for my wedding. I believe that it helps save a LOT of time. Here are a few of my favorites!
Nikki had a BEAUTIFUL dress! I managed to help Ashley in getting a different angle of her bridal session before the ceremony.
Here are a few of my favorites from the ceremony. 
After the ceremony, we went back to where they shot their first looks and grabbed a few post wedding portraits. I really loved how these turned out.
